Blessed Rain

It was cold and dreary but at least we got half an inch of
rain. It was really needed. I had to go stay with Ashley
because she was very sick. The Dr. said she had strep throat,
and the flu as well. She was also verging on pneumonia. Three doses of antibiotic and tamiflue and she was much better
today. She was able to eat well and keep it down and looked
so much better when I left.

I made a casserole and some chicken noodle soup while I was
there. I also watched a good Greer Garson and Robert Mitchum
movie.

Ted and I are trying to improve the looks of his studio. I
rearranged and got enough room to put up a table. It has good
north light and two skylights as well. It is a rotten shame
that we aren't more talented.

Our grass is greening up and soon we will have to mow. I don't care
because it is wonderful to see green again. Ashley stayed with me
yesterday and is so much better.

We can irrigate the yard, but rain does the job right.

Being 3 blocks away from the girls is really nice. You ought to see
Adrienne when she is watching the quiz shows. Her Academic team is
going to State.

Lots of wonderful rain in store. It hailed a little today, too! Bought garden things at Lowe's today. So ready to get into it up to me elbows.

Me too. I am just salivating over flowers and can't wait to put them out.

You are such a fantastic Grandmother.

Thank you, Kristy. Ashley tells me that when I give her chicken strips
for a snack.

I repeatedly had as a child what was called tonsillitis back in the day (strep these days). Doc shot me with a few doses of penicillin the last time and I didn't even feel the needles. I was warned that if I got it again my tonsils would be yanked. I didn't get it again. Power of the mind over matter? Maybe age, but whatever, I wanted to keep what I was born with.
Didn't know you still needed rain. It looked like you got a lot over the winter. Hopefully normal temps and moisture for you guys this summer. we could actually use a dry spring. The warm winter is going to produce an abundance of of bugs and rodents, so dry would help.

Jeremy and I are in the mood to plant and the temperature is so mild that
we are having trouble refraining. We both know it sometimes freezes
here in April.

I had strep in my 20s, doctor gave me sulfa drugs, the therapy at the time. He said my recovery was miraculous. Just think, born at the wrong time and toast by 25. Hope Ashley's feeling better real soon. You're talented. Learn to accept it.

I had a bout with meningitis when I was sixteen. Sulfa saved me too.
Up until sulfa was available, we would have both been toast.

Lots of rain here today, too. But by sunset, things were looking up. Sending love to Ashley! Take best care....
