Whoops

This happened the other day on a downtown street in Pittsburgh. A sinkhole opened up suddenly in the street. Luckily, only the driver and one passenger were on it at the time. The street will be closed for months while they repair it.

I give it a wow, and am grateful I was not sitting in the back of that bus. Hope you made it across town safely.

I never got there. Last night pulling out of my driveway my car suddenly made a horrible sound and then wouldn't go into gear or hold the regular brake. It turned out to be a broken axle. Getting fixed now. Guess I head to town tomorrow.

City streets have so much stuff under them - water and sewer pipes, electrical lines, even subways - I always picture them as hollow shells and wonder that they don't cave in more often.

Yes, I guess they do. I don't get to see it much. I should go peek at it.

This picture was a big deal on Nightly News. The video of the woman awake for brain surgery was also a big deal. Youtube is filled with this stuff. But if it gets a "wow" from the TV viewer it's a big deal. I think network news is clueless.

Well, it matters to me because I have to make sure of my route tomorrow. I have to go clear across town and back.

I don't care where it gets this but it is still a WOW!
