Yes, it's a sad thing that MyBloggers will be gone. I’ve been slowly locating people on Facebook -- and my FB account is (unfortunately) under the name Maus Barn. (Had to test FB out, and set up several accts with random names. I kept that one, so I could separate my work account from personal.)
You can still open a free blog on Wordpress.com, and they are easier to use than most. Personally I’d use them over others. There’s also Blogger.com and Weebly.com and Tumblr.com. I’ve tried the last 2 and they’re kind of complicated, I thought.
And what we'd be missing is the group page that shows recent posts, and shows the other users. Only MyBloggers and Blogster were good at that, since they weren't too huge.
The Blogroll on the side bar of a Wordpress blog page would be a good feature for MyBloggers folks. You could post links to a bunch of former MyBloggersites in the same place.
Anybody have blogs they'd want to mention? It's another way of keeping in touch outside facebook.
