Just Some Candles

Things I did while waiting for the holiday rain to stop: made some candles. And now all the rain is snow.

The big one was poured into a wax carton, which is something I wish I used more of, because then you get a candle that's free-standing. That one has scented wax and smells really good. The others I tried to add fragrance, but it takes a lot of essential oil and still you end up with only faint scent. That one has a chip out of the side but I still like it. I used cotton twine for the wick.

Those tea cups are lovely. Reminds me of my aunt's tea cup collection, which I'd totally forgotten about. I can picture one or two of them, but would love to fly back in time to see the full set.

I decided my few remaining fancy cups had to do something besides sit on the kitchen shelf. But a couple of them have designs on the inside of the cup, so I spared those.

My favorite is the one in the square glass container. I like the square one that is free standing too. The last time I made candles, I got wax with the scent in it but it wasn't too successful. Not enough smell good.

But you do have those LED lights, which are nice when power goes out. Just not the same ambience.
