Remember not to stand on chairs to reach things, and absolutely never climb to reach something when you’re not wearing good tread footwear, and the chair is slippery wood. Chairs aren’t meant to be stood on anyway. So don't try to use one just because it's higher than your stepstool.
I spent a painful day after falling from what I mentioned above. How stupid can one be, just trying to spray an ant that was way up on the wall. I fell, or rather my feet shot out from under me, and I landed on my back and my head slammed on the floor. My first thought was, Oh, no, I’ve hit my head of all things, boy of all things I don’t want to land on, it’s my head.
I have a painful bump there, but not much else going on.
I talked to my sisters, who quizzed me on how exactly I felt. After a while I still didn’t have any dizziness or vision changes, no other body symptoms, so I didn’t think the ER was needed. They continued checking in with me every few hours. We already have one brother who is disabled from two head injuries.
Yesterday I had to put ice on my neck all day, which must have gotten rattled hard. Mike did warn me that pain would develop over 2-3 days, and that was correct.
