My place is like a cargo section of a train station, boxes everywhere. So I have to concentrate on getting stuff out. Scrap metal is out by the curb, but no one has responded to the ad I put up about it; I just took several boxes and bags to Goodwill, and now a pile of books to the bookstore that buys books.
And when I come home, I need to attend to what some call Mount Shredmore, but I usually call Accounts Flammable. These are the piles of papers that either are for shred or the fireplace.
It's a shame to open a box of vintage hardback books and find that storage alone gets them dirty. I don't know how dirt forced its way into the tightly-stacked columns of boxes.
I don't know whether I wrote about this after the storage unit move or not, but Budget vehicle rentals is just terrible. I am still fighting a $50 fee from them for being a no-show. After reserving a truck one evening -- and getting a confirmation for it at the location I needed -- I drove there the next morning and they had no trucks at all, and scarcely any cars. It didn't even look like a working rental location. Apparently they confirm reservations whether they have the vehicle there or not. So then they try to move your reservation to another location -- which is completely unacceptable, since it may add lots of miles, at about a dollar a mile. Then they email you during the night -- and if you expected a phone call, you might not be checking your email, as I didn't. They moved my reservation to a location 40 miles or so away. I was told this, when I showed up at the first location.
I went to U-haul down the street instead. They do not reserve a vehicle to be rented unless it is confirmed there on the lot at the time.
