Yesterday, another St. Petersburg, FL police officer was shot and killed- the third in less than a month. The shooter was a sixteen year old boy! (Three officer were gunned down 28 days ago. Only one survived.)
Today, a school bus driver was attacked and visciously beaten by another teen- because the driver asked him to stay seated while the bus was moving! I Googled "bus driver attacked by student" and was shocked to learn that this is not an isolated incidence. It has happened all too frequently. Bet they don't tell that to job applicants!
There is the unrest in Lybia and the tyrant who his shooting his own people even dropping bombs on them! Gahdafi is so determined to stay in power that he has threatened bloodshed no matter how many die- down to the last life and "his last drop of blood," if necessary (his words). His words are so bizarre that many of his staunchest supporters are defecting. His own deputy ambassador to the UN has called for his ouster.
Then there is the earth quake in New Zealand. The only silver lining here is that this was not caused by Man or his propensity for evil. How very sad! In Haiti they blamed the poor construction for the devastation. These buildings were not poorly made, yet they tumbled down anyway. I don't think the death toll is as high but it is still utterly devastating.
I think I need to go to Youtube and watch some of the really neat videos- like the one of the goats climbing in trees- to remind myself of all of the truly amazing and wondrous things in life.
