I don't make resolutions, but it seems that the new year has lit a fire under me!
I dropped into the new bank in town, I had an RRSP (retirement savings) coming due, so had a nice talk with a guy there and put the money into something that would get a better return. Plus, being a new bank and trying to get people to come in, they are going to send me a $100 Visa gift card... in 6 - 8 weeks. Yeah spending money, boo on 6 - 8 weeks!
I made an appt with my other bank (have money at two different ones, my pay cheque goes to this one, DH's goes to the other) So tomorrow I'll go see what they say I should do - need to buy an RRSP so I don't pay any taxes, etc.
I heard that my new doctor, who I really, really liked has left. :( Made an appt with the new doctor for next week.
I've been to 2 exercise classes this week, ran on the treadmill 2 times, ran outside once (at sunrise on snow covered roads, it was lovely!), and I'm going to another class tomorrow morning. I'm going to drop a few more pounds and see if I can maintain it.
Posted some clothes I wanted to sell on Facebook, and sold 4 of the 11. Will have to put them in ebay next. Bought two more items from a thrift store today to resell (found a LaCoste shirt for $1.25!!)
Bought milk & a few things at Safeway, which I rarely shop at since it's so expensive, and got a winning booklet thingy - a Bulovia watch worth $325!! They have to order it in, so I haven't seen it yet. Might keep it, might try selling it. Not sure I want to wear such an expensive watch. I won there once before, a Cross pen worth $20. Which I don't use.
Had a dentist appt, and have made another appt to discuss getting braces. YIKES! I'm scared, but I'm sure the results will be worth it.
I got my Dyson vacuum. Happy Dance! It's very, very different that my old vacuum, and will take some getting use to. But it sucks. Amazingly. The carpets look so clean. :)
I'm working on getting the photo albums up to date. I do 3 albums, one for me, and one for each of the kids which will be theirs when they leave home. I was over 2 years behind! I printed $50 worth of pictures, and I'm almost finished the albums.
Next on the to do list: can the tomatoes in the freezer, defrost & clean freezer, use my mom's old cabinet doors to build a bookshelf, declutter house (again), sell more outgrown kid's toys, figure out what I want to grow in the garden next year, touch up painting inside the house, clean up the garage...
