I'm babysitting a greenhouse.
My friend and neighbour had surgery today (reconstruction after mastectomy), and won't have full range of motion in her right arm for a week or more. I'm checking on it a couple times a day since she doesn't trust her DH or 25 year old son and girlfriend to actually take care of her plants! It's not hard - make sure it's not too hot inside, and water the plants.
Yesterday, I skipped my usual exercise class and ran the 11.2k route of a race I ran in last year. I did it 2 minutes faster than I did in the race! And that was with a little "bushwhacking" when a pathway suddenly ended in a construction zone and I had to cross a field, climb through a barbed wire fence and jump over a water filled ditch to reach the road so I could continue! I want to do it in under 1 hour this year.
After that, I went to a Zumba class. It was fun, fun, fun! I didn't get half the steps right, but the instructor was so neat and an amazing dancer and I think I did better than most people in the class anyway. I'm going back next Tuesday again.
But next Tuesday is the last day of school, so then I'm in for the fun of summer holidays. I'm really not looking forward to it. I'm going to switch to running in the evening during the week, and early Sat & Sun mornings. I have lots of things planned that we can do - swimming, library, walks, splash parks, playgrounds, bike riding, overnights at the cabin, playdates with friends (hey, I can run if they both go!)
My grandmother in law is in the hospital. Don't know all the details (I think aunt in law likes to keep us in the dark) but she had such bad pain that she wouldn't walk anymore, pain is better controlled, but she has stress fractures in her hip/legs.
