I was in grade school when the principal connected the radio news to the overhead speakers in our classrooms. When the news came on, I cried and cried and buried my face in my wool skirt. Then the teacher sent us out for recess and it seemed that the rest of the kids ran around and played as usual. It was just a horrible, sad weekend - from the pictures of the shooting then to Jackie wearing the blood-stained suit and finally to Jack Ruby killing Oswald in front of all those cops, etc., and on live television.
I have always thought her daughter's marriage was more of a shotgun thing than a carrot tossed out to the conservatives. In my mind, she makes those conservatives look like a frat party. I agree that those children need a lot from their parents right now and her acceptance of the veep spot on the ticket was inappropriate at best.
Tattoos are so common nowadays that I'm surprised you mom reacted that way. If you want another one, go for it. I love to go to estate sales because I enjoy old linens, especially ladies hankies. They were so beautiful and individual, just as handwriting once was. I remember you wrote about your grandma's illness in the past. I'm sorry to learn that she passed away.
Ouch! that has to HURT! Get thee to a nice long hot soak in a tub... A glass of wine wouldn't hurt either. Great job with the kid.
Fredo put up a very helpful post about Alzheimers for me! Thanks Fredo, the information has helped a lot. It's here: https://mybloggers.com/fredo/little_words_diagnose_dementiafor.html. Blogging buddies are such good friends.
Thanks Fredo. I didn't know about that specific test. Seventy-four percent accuracy sounds wonderful! My mom had something similar but she wouldn't let me answer any of the questions on her paper. Our test sounds very similar to the one described above. I appreciate this very much. I've been second-guessing myself all summer wondering if I'm overreacting. I think I'll print your post and maybe show it to her tomorrow.
Do they treat you better than your Crazy Sis and Mom? If so, go for it. Maybe they want to fix you up on a blind date...
Oops, forgot to say congrats on your decision. I've always loved the west.
But I thought Jethrene moved out there because her hubby couldn't find work in West By God? Now that they're getting divorced, will she move back?
I agree with nittineedles. It does sound like depression, which is part of S.A.D. There is a tried and true method of kicking it and I'll send it to you. No pills involved. Depression can be one of the most miserable feelings ever.
I've been gone a while and am slowly catching up. I seen the last few titles but decided to read things in order. So here's what I would have said: don't move if it means leaving us behind! We need you too much Buggs. On the other hand, if you will still be here, then go for it.
"the "scarring" on my heart, discovered at my last stress test, might be just the shadow of my boob(I'm not making that up). Jesus H. Christ in a sidecar. I don't know how these people remain in practice." Oh boy, I'm finally under control enough to comment on that one. As my favorite Aunt Kate used to say, Someone had to be last in the class at med. school. And as for you diet, have you ever tried fried baloney sandwiches? They are a true west-Michigan delicacy.
Next time try the fake sudofed. You don't even have to sign over your firstborn to get it and it's right there on the shelves - at least for now, until some 90 year old sneaker clad granny figures out how to cook it. Plus, it works pretty well.
Oh, boy! Gonna miss some of these. We already lost Linens and Things and I guess we will lose our Circuit City too, which leaves us with Best Buy, my very least favorite.
