Yup! You said it. I'll have to print the message for my crew.
I'm sure your "geek" has done a lot, but you might try one of the online email services such as, gmail, hotmail or yahoo, etc. That eliminates downloads entirely. The Preferences in your browser will let you use a blank page for your home page; and you can choose to clear your cache every time you log off.
Oh, don't get me started on this subject. I hear a lot of horrible grammar from folks around here too. However, I'm not their teacher so I just ignore it unless it's so bad I can't understand what the he** they are trying to say. One minor comment about your post: How about "to say correctly."
When I was teaching, I often had some students participate in the release time for religious education. I was expected to make up the lessons for them when they returned. I never spoke against it in order to avoid conflict, but I felt they should have held the classes after school. The classes were always held in a church, and a church van provided all transportation.
Sorry to hear about your back, Randy. Haven't you blogged about back problems before? I thought I remembered that but could be wrong. Anyway, if it's happening repeatedly, you might want to consider going to a doctor. It can't hurt, and it might help. Hope you are feeling better.
And another thing: I was disgusted by the repeated references to the "Black voters" as if they alone elected Obama. It was simply a matter of statistics. I looked this up: Blacks make up about 13 % of the US population. About 13% of voters in the election were, guess what, Black. Therefore, they didn't elect him by themselves. Okay, my rant is over.
This is a bit late but I want to get my two cents in too. I think calling Obama Black stems from the old prejudice that anyone with even a drop of Negro blood was considered Negro. I expect it was a way of saying if you weren't pure lily white, you were black. Anyway, I like you, got very irritated about him being called Black over and over and over again.
Kewpie, I'm am just heartbroken. I will miss your dry humor and comments on life from your window seat. My heart goes out to your mom and her boyfrenn. Rest in peace, beautiful furry one, Catdancer
I can't pick just one person! I have to have a group of women to dinner, including: Lillian Hellman, Amelia Erhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Margaret Bourke-White and Mollie Ivins. Good question.
I love to watch birds - all kinds. They are so interesting! I think I have bird books for most of the U.S.
Great list, Scarlett. I agree with you about ol' Percy Sledge singin' that song. It'll melt the icicles right off the eaves.
Great! I just got a reminder to get mine too. Guess I'd better call them...
Oh, what a little doll! What's her name? Give her kisses from her Auntie Karen.
You are right about that last one. A teacher in my building had breast cancer several years ago and said it was her boyfriend that had found the lump. So, she told the men in the building to keep on feeling...
Hi Sue I'd love to travel to some of the places on your list too. And as Janet said, I'll join you for number 4. I'd love an outdoor clothesline. I haven't had one in nearly 30 years and it was one of those with the spokes or arms coming out and it sort of made a spiderweb when the ropes were on it. I loved it! I think I'll put up another one but I have to wait until I get my cast off - Soon I hope!
