Have I told you lately, I love Bali. I'm going back there on the 10th of April and I cant wait.
When I go on a holiday I dont like to spend money on luxury 5 star hotels. To me it's a waste because I only use the room to sleep in at night after I've been out all day. All I want really is a nice clean room with air-conditioning and as long as the bed and the bathroom is clean, I'm happy.
That said, the hotel I will be staying at in April is one of those luxury ones but it's not my choosing.
It is called the Mansion and it's a five star luxury hotel..here's the link if you wanna see https://www.themansionbali.com/
My step-sister in Sydney who is meeting me there is the one who chose it and who am I to argue...lol. She's always been one who loves luxury when she travels...she's used to it because she used to be a Cathay Pacific stewardess and they always stayed in 4 or 5 star hotels whenever they had lay-overs.
I on the other hand have always stayed in a nice little 3 star hotel right across the road from the beautiful beach in Kuta.
It is called the Aneka Beach Hotel and it's cheap but clean and very friendly. I've stayed there countless times so I've gotten to know everyone who works there and have always enjoyed it. Here's some pics of one of my many stays at this okay and inexpensive hotel.
The entrance to the hotel...its quite a drive from the main road which is good because it's right across from the beach so it's noisy and busy.
The gardens are gorgeous and very well maintained.
The swimming pool has a bar on one end and there are bar stools you sit on underwater.
This is the Karaoke bar right alongside the pool. Balinese looove their karaoke and this bar is always partying every night!! It's so much fun.
gotta add a controversial pic in there somewhere, otherwise it gets boring...lol. Please dont ask, it was embarrassing enough to hold it while the pic was being taken...lol.
This is the Cempaka Restaurant right next to the pool as well, this was taken about mid morning, after most of the guests had finished breakfast. The food is mainly Indonesian but you can always order a steak and fries or something ''foreign'' if you insist..lol.
This is one of the lovely Balinese girls that works at the hotel. Very friendly and nothing is too much or too difficult.
These are some of the friends you get to make from all over the world. Every night is party time by the pool.
The hotel also organizes outings and excursions...this one is to a horse stud owned by an Aussie guy from Sydney. He breeds horses and loves them.
This is one of a million music shops in Kuta, they sell music and video dvd's from all over the world. I thought you'd be interested in some of their Balinese Art (or maybe not...lol)
If you ever get a chance to travel overseas, Bali awaits and wont disappoint!
