I have been gone for so long that I doubt any of you will even remember me, but I have thought of all of you so very often, and at times those thoughts are the only things that have kept me sane.
As you know my son came back to live giving up a teaching profession to become a nurse. He is doing well and has begun his second year in the RN program. He received a scholarship which pays for everything this second year--even gas to clinicals--how about a great big Whoooo RaHHHH! However, something that you might not be aware of is that my daughter and my grandson are also living with me. They arrived the first day of July, homeless and destitute with only a few items of clothing and a car full of troubles. Her husband had been arrested for theft and he had dragged my grandson in the mess also. I think that they came back for us to bail them out. However, we were ready for them to face the music. The husband has paid off the theft charge--where he got the money, I have no idea. He is still under charges of theft at Waco, however, but my grandson was not involved in that. We are simply waiting to see what will become of all this. My daughter and grandson have jobs and are working. She says that she will never to back to the bum but continues to talk to him and receive emails. I still do not trust her, unfortunately, and am making her responsibile for taking charge of her life. My grandson is so very happy to be back. The abuse that he has suffered over the last 6 years is heartbreaking. He kept hoping that things would get better and that he would be able to win the love and support from them that he so wanted. He has finally realized that you can't buy love--not that unconditional love that parents have for their children. Hopefully, he will be able to build a happy life for himself. Of course, we will be watching over him and encouraging him in every way that we can.
I plan to return in full force soon and catch up with all of you. I have just been so down and not fit for much but manual labor and little critter care. I am feeling much better, for things are finally falling in place and order is being restored.
Best wishes from Southern Illinois----
