The True Beauty of a Woman

The following was written by Audrey Hepburn concerning "Beauty Tips":

  • For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

  • For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

  • For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

  • For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

  • For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.

  • People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anybody.

  • Remember, If you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.

  • As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others. 

  • The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. 

  • The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, And the beauty of a woman with passing years-only grows!


Happy Sunday, everyone. Today is a day of rest; yesterday was spent moving some more furniture for my daughter. We also went through my stash of blankets, quilts, spreads and curtains and found so many items that I had tucked away for later use. She called in the evening to say that her house is beginning to resemble a "real" home. Of course, frills make the appearance so much more delightful, but the atmosphere of any home is warmed by love.

She was in more than 30 movies, and is probably best remembered for "Roman Holiday" and later on for "Breakfast at Tiffanys".
Audrey Hepburn was one of the most beautiful women of her, or any generation, and her beauty was far more than skin deep.

In 1988, Audrey became a special ambassador to the United Nations UNICEF fund helping children in Latin America and Africa, a position she retained until 1993.

Her last film was Always in 1989. Audrey Hepburn died of cancer on January 20, 1993 in Switzerland. She devoted herself to helping Children in need, and left much of her money to the Audrey Hepburn Organization.

Even I can send them a couple of bucks. In these times of tight money, perhaps you can find someplace local that helps kids, and volunteer there.
