Oh Hallelujah! It's Snowing!

I know some of you had a wintry winter this year and would not celebrate another snow storm.

It was really dry here in Colorado all winter and our snowiest months of the year - March and April - have been bone dry.

But right now it's snowing, with 2 to 4 inches possible. I'm so pleased. We really need some moisture to soak into the ground before the days get hot. We've already had a major wildfire ten miles from here, a very bad sign of a bad fire year.

I assume you're back "home". Eastern Colorado (and W. Kansas) was very dry when I drove through.

Yes, it started getting hot there in Las Vegas and I thought spring was here, but I got here, and it's still pretty cold. I'm glad to get it out of the way between snow storms in the high mountains, but like you say, it's very dry on the plains and here in the foothills.

Colorado doesn't have snow on the ground all winter like I remember from when I lived in Vermont in 1974. Both ways have their advantages.

Lovely to see your beautiful Colorado again! Hope you keep getting snow for your thirsty land....

This ended up at three or four inches of heavy, wet snow, now the sun is out and it's plopping off the trees. A couple more like this, and we'll all feel better about summer.

We have had some major wildfires in Texas already because of lack of moisture. Any moisture is welcome when it is dry and windy.

We're all going to be praying for rain this summer. I hope the monsoon season (a little rain every day starting in July) helps us, it wasn't very good last year.

I understand completely and I would even like snow at this point because
the fire danger is so great and the ground so dry.

We'll have to see what happens at your house when this storm hits your town.

flooding here, don't want more snow. 10-20cm tonight.

It's a tough deal, the balance between drought and flooding. We're going to see a lot of runoff this spring after big snows in the high Rockies, but hopefully it'll stay between the banks of the river.

Beautiful pix. Didn't know you got snow so late in spring. Enjoy. Hope the summer will not be a problem.

It was all good until the power went out this morning, but it was back on two hours later.

it's so pretty there, and as long as there is nowhere to go, well - Enjoy!!!

The ground's really warm, so it's not sticking on the roads, more like white rain in that respect.

I thought winters in England were bad I was sunbathing in the garden last Friday I cant believe you are getting snow I thought you would be getting warmer like us by now we have all the daffodils and tulips in flower lol.

Last year we had 6 inches of snow on May 9, and our last frost date is May 30, so plenty of winter/early spring left here at 7000 feet above sea level.

It was only 91 degrees here today!! Enjoy the snow--I enjoy seeing the pictures!

I'm glad you like the photos. Since I was away for the winter, it's nice to see some snow and get some more photos.
