We are coming up on the 10th anniversary of our devastating flood. It was caused by tropical storm moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, and this weekend we are in a similar weather pattern, so everyone is thinking back to what we wish we'd done differently back in 2013.
I don't think it will get that bad, but that's the fun of natural disasters, isn't it - possible but not probable.

The flood changed the river, and now that island is much longer due to interesting hydrological processes, that in sum mean next time we have a flood that big, the river will probably take out our house.
