Vegan Schmegan

Ed works with a terrific lawyer, Pam, who is a savvy litigator and is helping him with legal situations concerning his wards. I have met her and her husband and we want to invite them to dinner at some point. However, they are vegans. So I am looking up vegan recipes on line and we all know how challenging I find anything new to cook in the kitchen. So, wish me luck. Since we haven’t invited them to anything yet, there is at the moment no time constraint. I figure I’ll be ready by 20015.

Tonight I did frozen stuff  a frozen spinach pizza that wasn’t bad  I ate a couple of small triangles  Ed ate more, which is good, because he was complaining about not feeling well and having malaise. Then I put frozen clams in the microwave  6  7 minutes tops, and I poured the liquid over spaghetti and added the clams. I am thinking I could serve it to Pam and husband. They don’t eat cheese either and I am thinking what do they do for food?

So I have to check the internet for vegan recipes and if any of you know of any, please advise.

Meanwhile, I have been newly terrorized by the risks of eating genetically modified foods and there are web sites that show you how to avoid them, and the task is time-consuming and daunting. Sigh.

I would seriously consider changing my vegan ways if I had them, if all my friends were committing hari kiri rather than invite me over.

xx, Teal

I already had my fill of this season's Paczkis. I had a total of four boxes of six each. I am done.

My vegan friends get steamed broccoli with melted ersatz cheese food shmoozed all over it, sprinkled with toasted almond slivers and a side dish of hummus, but I get a nice grilled steak and real cheese on my potato. LOL

Ooooo, I sympathize. This carnivore has found Martha Stewart's vegan collection of recipes helpful and tasty. I have made a few of them for my vegan nephew and his bride. I don't do tofu (gag) but there are some good choices and options (main dishes/appretizers/desserts). Go to her site and have a look....

Hope it helps!

thanks so much for the link, sweet thing. I'm in uncharted territory here.

You are right. If I were a vegan, I think it would be kind to tell the
host I would bring my own food. (if you can call it that!)

No clams for Vegans. No seafood at all. It is a headache to suit them when you must prepare a meal. Oh boy! Maybe go out and buy a box of Paczkis. LOL

You will have to wait a year until next Mardi Gras to try paczkis.

I don't know from Paczkis either.

Vegan is so irritating to cook for when it's not your lifestyle. Vegetarian or gluten free is bad enough. I'll post some recipes as Kitchentales that don't have a bunch of weird ingredients for you to have to buy and then not know what to do with what's left over.

I'll keep my eye out for whatever you post ... and thank you kindly.
