Update on Stuff

I took my computer in to Cee Monday morning. Good thing I was first because she gets very busy. Anyway, it took two hours and I waited, and she was able to copy my hard drive and then transfer it to a new drive and it cost about $230. So because I had spent this money, I decided to wait on the Smart phone idea, and I bought a $39 battery for my dumb phone from Batteries Plus and they installed it for me. I’ll wait a bit before I proceed with a smart phone, but I have decided that I do want one.

Waiting in the shop, however, wore me out. I talked to other customers, also waiting, and one of them was a hard right kind of guy, and we disagreed about everything but didn’t come to blows. The most frustrating thing about our conversation was his insistence that every single person in politics is corrupt and there is no hope. And when I said, why not just commit suicide then, he accused me of saying there was no hope.

The latest in the investigation is that Bob Mueller is about to indict Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign manager for a few months, whom he insisted he “barely knew”. Well, it appears that Manafort has been under electronic surveillance for quite some time and it may well be that some of his conversations with Porky are also a matter of record. It is coming together but I am impatient. Trump is doing a lot of damage to this country worldwide, and John Kelly, his recently appointed chief of staff, was seen holding his head in his hands during Trump’s deranged tirade at the United Nations. Also, Trump threatened Korea with destruction. I am worried he’ll want to use his nuclear option and can only hope that cooler heads refuse to follow.

Take care when discussing current events out in public, you never know how far the insanity has taken people. With any luck, T. will get back to the thing he was doing that was okay with me: destroying the Republican Party. Unfortunately, hurricanes interrupted this important work.

I don't want the Republican Party to be destroyed. I would like it to reclaim its conservative principles within a framework of humanity. In the past Republicans and Democrats worked together. This all changed with the Tea Party, a bunch of religious fanatics. If the Republicans are destroyed, Democrats will be all powerful. That is not a good thing either. Absolute power corrupts.

Computers are more important than smart phones. We don't have a signal up here, so my phone use is very limited. I actually get more use out of the apps on my 'smart' iPod because I run it off the wifi here at home.

as matters stand, I don't use my dumb phone a lot. I make sure I have it when I leave the house. Mostly I just use it to call Ed when I am out. That would all change if I had a smart phone. I think.

Glad your computer is up and running. Trump is pure evil and I don't want two maniacs to be in charge of the world as we know it. Kim Jong Un
is just as crazy as the donald. I am going to pour myself a large glass of wine and just chill!

I am worried about the Korean leader - two spoiled brats drawing nuclear lines in the sand. Pour me a glass, I'll come over.
