This giant intellect here goes first to the comics in the daily paper, then to the advice columns where she second-guesses what Dear Abby and Annie have to say, then she’ll look at the Op-Eds to see if anything she wrote is appearing (not today) and will read what some others are saying. Her eyes glaze over Michelle Malkin’s column because she doesn’t want to get an ulcer.

Also, she will cut out the New York Times daily crossword and put it on a clipboard. That’s an exhausting morning right there.

Today I noticed a feature piece about Sandi Patty, about whom I had never heard. The hedder is “Christian singer Patty Marches Onward” and there is a photo of a blonde 50-something sort of overweight but not awful, with a big smile. Well, they lost me with the first word, but I made myself read on in the interests of not being narrow-minded. (When I finished, I was still narrow-minded but we knew I would be, now, didn’t we?)

Ms. Patty has garnered numerous awards – 40 Dove awards. Well I had to look that one up. Here is what Wiki had to say: A Dove Award is an accolade by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards are presented at an annual ceremony called the GMA Dove Awards.

Okay, she has 40 of those. She also has five Grammies, four Billboard Music Awards, three platinum albums and four gold albums and, my stars, she doesn’t know where to put them all in her Oklahoma City home. There is no, absolutely no, accounting for taste.

People just love, love her. Her big winners are “More Than Wonderful,” “We Shall Behold Him,” (who does she mean??), “How Great Thou Art” (what a suck-up) and “I’ve just Seen Jesus” (quick, call the medics) and "many more".

Okay, that’s enough. I wanted to fulminate. We all know how I feel about what I characterize as overbearing goodness wallowing in wealth and voting against women’s choice and gay rights. Or do you think she is one of the rare ones, who actually does have feelings for those who aren’t just like her?
