He likened this misadventure to Sid Caesar’s inspired language mangling during his fabulous “Show of Shows” in the 50s, totally missing that Caesar lampooned all languages including English, and did not make fun of any public figure, let alone a world leader so vital to American interests. The story mentioned that Clear Channels Communications Radio Network is home to Limbaugh and Hannity and others, including Bob Costas, whom I admire and respect. I wrote Costas a note telling him he needed to find himself among better company.

Banter of this kind is what leads to discrimination of a more insidious kind. If women are objects of sexual ridicule, and one implies they are only good to get your rocks off, how can they be taken seriously?
