The flashlight sounds like another techie device that would strain my smarts. The SOS signal is dit dit dit dah dah dah dit dit dit. Three dots, three dashes, three dots. When we meet, I'll dit dah your name for you. Shucks, I'll do it now: ._.. ._ .._ ._. ._ or Laura. It's nice that you reconnected with the engineer from the past.
So pleased you are able to get around again. It must feel like being re-born. Since your computer time is short, you might try writing your posts at home and transcribing when you get to the library. Or are you already doing that?

Thanks for kind thoughts ... Ed got the cardiac referral from our internist on Thursday and the cardiac doctor said he could fit him in on Friday. But other emergencies prevented that and he saw him yesterday and sent him right to the hospital. It is extremely lucky that Ed was seen and had the procedure the same day because he was taking two nitro a day and a serious situation episode seemed imminent. He is very impressed with the doctor. We dodged a bullet.

I think "very" is a useful word. Anything can be overused. I was asked recently to reduce a piece for publication by 100 words. When I finished, I could see the piece was much better. Now I write and go over it with cutting in mind. Instead of targeting words (awesome is an exception), the critics should support better English usage all around.
Words can't ease the pain I know you feel. But you and Bobby are in my thoughts.

Re those products that change indoors and outdoors, I once got a pair of glasses that became sunglasses outdoors and were normal indoors. Bad idea. One reason I need sunglasses is to hide my eyes when I cry at funerals.

Glad you're getting back on track. Those are New Balance shoes, a good product. I got an expensive orthotic when I had foot surgery years ago. I used it in short boots I wore a lot in New York. I am not using it anymore. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I buy all my shoes on line now because they offer wide widths that I need. Can't find these in stores.
I am so pleased that you are back and writing. What a time you've had.
