Gardens and Such

The roses have finished the first wave of blooms and are
preparing to bloom again. I do love the knock out roses.
I have two climbing roses that I transplanted along the
fence and they are doing well. Oklahoma is as green as
I have ever seen it with all the rain.

I have tomatoes on several vines but they have been slowed
by the cool weather. I also have one pepper plant which
is enough for us for all of the summer.

The stars of my efforts are two huge ferns and a huge
begonia. Somehow the weather was just their cup of tea
and they almost look fake. In fact, my Sil, the master
gardener had to feel them to assure herself they were
not artificial.

We had a neighborhood meeting last night that was cancelled
by the city unbeknownest to all of us who attend so we
went out and ate Mexican food together. It was lots of
fun.

Especially the beloved Tex-Mex food. The best I ever had was in Laredo,
Texas, across the border from Mexico.

You've been talking of your garden when I didn't even have weeds in the yard; your growing season I think is at least 4 weeks ahead of mine here, maybe 6 weeks. It must be beautiful. Finally a rosebush here decided to bloom to let me know it survived the deer.

We have a long growing season. I picked two ripe tomatoes today, the
earliest that I have ever had them. We love the taste of home grown
tomatoes!

It is obvious that the only solution for my going-nowhere flowering efforts is for you to come and stay with me and fix things.

It sounds lovely. I would probably be too fascinated by the dolphins to
get any work done.

I love Mexican food, even now that I'm cheese less. Haha
I actually have two tomato plants started - I got them from a friend - I'm hoping I can keep them alive and thriving.

When I lived in Virginia, I was fascinated by the wild flowers and woods.
Anything just stuck in the ground seemed to grow from the steamy heat.
I have faith that your tomatoes will thrive.
