Match Dot Teal

Following up on our homely little dating service, Nadine met with “the candidate” yesterday. Unfortunately, she was not Gary’s type and probably if she had brought a photo of herself, full frontal nudity, as Gary had suggested, it would have been a bad idea to actually show it to him.
So Nadine did not bother showing her the photo I had taken of him. Thinking quickly, she deftly maneuvered the direction of the encounter by saying Gary was still working through his grief, and happened to now be “out of town” because “he travels a lot” and she took the woman’s number. All of the above is true, but just not true right now. A friend of Nadine’s (this took place in the health club cafeteria) was an onlooker, had been filled in earlier about what Nadine was up to, and remarked to her afterwards that she should have gotten “an academy award”.

We’ll keep looking.

Meanwhile, I have lost my cell phone. It dropped out of my little carrying case while I was walking. It was old. Maybe I lost it on purpose because it had to be charged every 10 hours, because the screen was muddy and scarred, because even with a clear screen, I could hardly see what it said and “just because”. I use Boost and Motorola is their phone of choice so I went on line and tried to buy one and the Amazon website added the item to my cart, and did not give me a way to complete the buy much less add a car charger. So I got annoyed and clicked out.

Local stores are hard to reach too, because I’d like to learn first if they have the model I want and getting through to them is also difficult. I hate to drive a half an hour and come up empty. It used to be a lot easier to get things done.

Teal, CREDO is not a pay-as-you-go phone. I used to use prepaid Virgin Mobile, and I loved them, but decided to support CREDO because of the company's support for progressive causes and the environment. I get an unlimited service plan ($70/mo.), as I am disconnecting from ATT, and so I need, it looks like, more service than you may. I got a great deal for my initial two-year contract, which is now over, and they don't force you into another contract after the first one. Also, they let me change the minutes without a problem or fee anytime I need to. My great LG phone was free, too, when I signed up. If you ever want to change, check out CREDO, I like CREDO very much. Good luck get your new replacement phone!

Credo sounds good if it's your main phone service. I have friends who are totally on cell phones and have discontinued their land lines. My $20 every three months pay as you go makes more financial sense to me because we only use it for communicating when we are away from the house. My land line is tied to high speed internet and cable and that's pricey enough. Thanks for info.

You might try eBay for the model you want. I had my heart set on a certain Motorola when my old phone had to be replaced, and I even changed carriers in order to get a phone company that supported that phone... and now my service isn't as good. And as far as the phones themselves, NOTHING is as good as my ancient Nokia phones -- two of which I'm still using after I don't know how many years. And last night I accidentally dropped one of them in a glass of diet Pepsi and it didn't even bother it.

I had a Nokia early on but had a contract with AT&T that I didn't like. When I came off of AT&T, I had to change phones. You drank the Pepsi, right?

Matchmaking and the need to think quickly go hand in hand. Best wishes in your hunt for a new candidate for Gary. As for the phone, I love CREDO Mobile and the LG phone I got from them online. Good luck getting the phone you want, or finding one you like.

Is CREDO pay as you go? I buy a $20 phone card every three months. If I do it before the three months expire, I keep unused minutes. Is CREDO a contract phone? I'm in the middle now and am free to make a change although if I do, the unused minutes on my lost phone can, if I act quickly. be transferred to my new phone, about $30 worth.

Matchmaking does not go as expected sometimes. Women live so much longer
than men as a rule so we always want to match up all the guys we see
wandering around single. I may have told you this but I googled a
former boyfriend who is now 89 and guess what. He is to be found on
match.com. So I know he is alive and well but Adrienne doesn't think
he will have much luck.

jd is right. Go to the website of your current carrier. That's where you will find your best deals.

I am shopping for a smart phone and a new deal. My Verizon phone is 6 years old now and I want a good one-price deal too. So, since my contract ran out last winter I can shop all over. The difference in prices between the stores (franchises) and the real phone companies (online) are huge.

Google your Boost/Motorola web site and buy it there. 90 percent of cell phone purchases and deals are done on the internet. You also get the best deals that way. When you buy at one of their stores (privately owned!!!) you pay their commission.

thanks for the good advice. I went on to the Boost website and the model I want is "out of stock". They didn't seem to offer a way for me to be notified when they have more. may have to get a different model.
