Frivolous Me

I just bought a pair of silver leather low boots to enhance my white witch halloween costume, with the fond hope that someone, anyone, will invite me to a costume party. Have to work on that. They were only $30 so I felt I could do this without feeling that I was squandering money on foolishness. On the other hand, I can wear them with my white tailored pants, so it wouldn’t just be a once a year thing with the costume.

The thick heels are 3 inches high. I am now tall. When I wear them. It is empowering. I am walking around like a big person. Watch this space. If I get a photo out of this, will post it, if I can remember how.

On Facebook, there was a math quiz, and I am terrible at math, so I didn’t even try to solve it. It's like God said when I was born, leave the math out of the DNA on this one. I have other talents. Most are x-rated. So thanks, Misty Being.

Jay once said that I was actually intended to be on another, gentler planet and there was a mix-up and I wound up on this one, and the baby that was supposed to be here on Earth went to this other planet and is tearing her hair out because there are no challenges.

xx, Teal

I like the idea of makeup replacing masks. It would be fun. I, too, got some silver boots but they hurt my poor feet so I sent them back.

I too yearn to wear a costume -- at least a hat and long dress of some kind. The museum every October has a couple of after-dark parties for adults, which could be fun. The rules say you aren't allowed to wear a mask, or carry fake or real weapons.

They're so terrified of weirdos that they don't allow masks. That's overkill. What you could do is go with face make-up that obscures. Exaggerated eyebrows and eyeliner, Circles of rouge. It's a thought. Enjoy.

I miss when I had a job and we dressed up for Halloween. Kids don't trick or treat in our area, people donate bags of candy to the town and it's given to the downtown merchants to hand out to kids who come into the stores. It's fun because the families get to show off their costumes to other families, not just the people who answer the doors.

We live in the cul de sac, and our neighbors won't pay for street lights, so our area is dark and few trick or treaters come to us. I used to know more people because I walked a lot and made friends because I am gregarious and strike up conversations. But now I use the treadmill indoors so I am not meeting new people. It is too hot to walk unless I get out of the house really early and, also, I was told to cover up (melanoma survivor). I'm making do. And Ed makes a lot of friends through his guardian work. But I do miss walking down the street and just knowing everyone.
