More of the Same ...

The latest is that the vermin guy came and Ed didn’t even make an effort to get competing quotes. He signed the contract that includes monthly follow-ups to make sure entry points remain sealed, and they will check the traps and remove whatever is caught. Also, if we detect that a trap has filled, we let them know and they come right away. When we had possums, we made sure the outfit caught and released them in the wild. But rats are a different story.

I am resigned to washing dishes by hand for another week until the new hose part for the dishwasher is delivered, but the problem was compounded today because the sink backed up again and wouldn’t drain and I was out of Liquid Plumber. Lest you think I am careless, no. I don’t use the dispose-all for anything but what remains on the dish AFTER I scrape it into the wet trash. But the pipes are old. I think it is ridiculous that we had a plumber clean out the pipe with his industrial tool and it started clogging, although to a lesser degree, within the week.

So I loaded the bar cart with all the dirty dishes and rolled it into the spare bathroom and washed everything in the bathroom sink and it is tiny, so I used the large kettle for a wash tub. Also, I was doing the work in semi-darkness because one of the fluorescent lights decided to go bad. I'm not making this up. I cover the cart with a towel and put paper towels on top of it, and place all the rinsed dishes and silverware on that. When I was done, I rolled it back into the kitchen.

Ziggy watched the whole thing and I could tell he was confused. I know just how he feels.

The good news is that the B12 shot I got is working.

xx, Teal

I know it is dreadful. Try to channel one of the pioneer women from
Ed's western movies. The Bl2 shot must be the way to go!!

I'm too busy channeling female anarchists from the 20s.

You are definitely besieged right now. Have you maybe noticed any angry gypsies or witches around the neighborhood? Or of course it might not be a curse, just more critters causing trouble -- I remember once I had garter snakes from the yard swim up the pipes into our laundry sink. I don't know how.

Maybe I've been hexed by my right-wing neighbors.

It sounds like one step away from rolling the cart out into the yard and washing the dishes with the garden hose.

It's too cold -- yes, in Florida, the temps are down and we are having storms every afternoon. Definitely strange, since our rainy season officially ended Nov. 1.
