Update and Special Thank You to Everyone

FIRST OF ALL, SO APPRECIATIVE OF EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED ON MY DISASTER. MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH! PHONE # AT HOSPITAL IS 601-288-3043.
HAVE YOU EVER HAD A BED BATH AND SHAMPOO? THE NURSES WON'T LET ME OUT OF BED BECAUSE MY LEGS HAVE TURNED FROM JELLO TO WATER. I TRIED STANDING UP THIS AM WITHOUT THEM KNOWING WITH THE ASSIST OF DAUGHTER AND TWO EMPLOYEES, BUT SOON AS I STOOD I COLLAPSED. SO DEPRESSED THAT DOCTOR PUT ME ON CYMBALTA. ANYWAY, DAUGHTER GAVE ME A BED BATH AND SHAMPOO, AND THAT FELT GOOD.
I HAVE BEEN MAJORLY ANNOYED BY THE DOCTOR NOT GETTING A NEUROLOGY CONSULT. ALL I WANT IS A NEUROLOGIST TO CHECK THE CAT SCAN AND MRI AND TELL ME IF I HAVE PERMANENTLY DAMAGED SPINAL NERVES. SO FINALLY TODAY A FINE NURSE, LISA,CONTACTED THE DOCTOR AND A NERVE INDUCTION STUDY WILL BE DONE TOMORROW, AND A NEUROLOGY CONSULT ORDERED.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY DOCTOR--A HOSPITALIST, HE IS VERY BUSY AND SOME OF THAT IS UNDOUBTEDLY IS DUE TO HIS CHARISMA.
HE LOOKS LIKE A MOVIE STAR, DOES THIS DOCTOR GRIFFITH. TALL AND SLIM, AND IMPECABBLY ATTIRED WITH A LAB COAT OVER HIS SUIT AND TIE. HE HAS DARK NEATLY GROOMED HAIR. HIS VOICE IS SOFT AND FRIENDLY. WHEN HE SHOWED UP FOR THE FIRST VISIT I SAID "IF I COULD STAND I WOULD BOW DOWN AND CURTSY TO YOU IN HOMAGE."

ps HOSPITAL FOOD IS TERRIBLE--I'VE LOST 12LBS, HERE PLUS
WHAT I LOST IN THE TUB AND AFTERMATH ABOUT 30LBS ALTOGETHER.
ALL IN ALL 30LBS. NO APPETITE AT ALL. KEEP ALL GOOD THOUGHTS ROLLING MY WAY. IF I DO NOT GET BETTER TEXAS WILL BE MY NEW HOME WITH MY DAUGHTER.
LOVE AND THANKD TO ALL,
SUSIL

MY DAUGHTER IS HELPING ME WITH THIS LAPTOP AND HOSPITAL WI-FI.

Hi Sue. I know what you mean about getting the doc you want. I just got back from the ER. I had 3 doctors look at X-rays, one said my ankle is broke, one said that it is not and the 3rd said he couldn't tell. They put a walking boot on me and sent me home. I hope Whatever is best for you is what happens.

We are just one minute away from disaster. I will call after I vote. Love
you. Ted fell and fractured his skull in September so I know about accidents.

The doc sounds like a dream! I hope you get some answers soon and get to go back to your own home.

I'd never even heard of a "hospitalist" until I was in the hospital in July 2011. I never could determine what exact purpose she served, other than perhaps to protect the hospital's interest vis-a-vis lazy or incompetent doctors. Hope you're feeling better.

One minute at a time becomes an hour becomes a day. John is right. Hang tough.

well you'd better keep improving and get out of there for a decent feed

I'm sending heartfelt wishes that your neuro problem is just temporary from being stuck in the tub all those days.

Well, you seem to be enjoying the doctor's presence so things can't be all bad. Sounds like a long road to recovery, but you can do it, one day at a time. Hang in!
