Bill Miller

There's a local chain of Bill Miller BBQ restaurants in this part of Texas, and it is one of my favorite places to dine.
I love, love their brisket, and the BBQ sauce comes in a cup on the side-a sauce so good and piquant I used to drink it when I had a sore throat and it always helped.
As a BBQ place, they sell all kinds of smoked meats besides brisket, the usual chicken and sausage and ribs, etc. and all kinds of side orders and pies. Yesterday my daughter Carm and I got brisket, potato salad, coleslaw and pinto beans, and their signature brown bread loaves. You get pickled onions and pickle slices, and pico de gallo, all you want free.
If you have a Bill Miller insulated mug, you can go in the restaurant or the drive thru and get a quart refill of tea for 50 cents.
Lord have mercy, I've been watching what I eat so as not to regain weight, but Bill Miller's is my Achilles heel; I have to stay away from that place!
Wish you were here to try it!

Bye from susil

I love good brisket. I am wedded to Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce because it is sweet and hot at the same time.

Hi Laura; Grilling and BBQing is not my forte, that's why I like Bill Miller o much.

Hi larry; as soon as Zee's SUV comes ot of the shop, we're headed for Mississippi--at least that's the plan. Hope to see you!

Sounds inviting. You're right to avoid it 'though if you need to watch weight. Ed's favorite is brisket. A dine-in roadhouse style place near here had it and we would go there. Then they stopped having it, said it was getting harder to get good quality, but Ed thinks it was too expensive for them to serve at a decent mark-up. So we haven't been back. Its name, I have to say, was a turn-off "Porkbellies". Its decor was license plates from its customers who came from other parts of the country. Classy, huh?

Hi teal; sounds like my kind of place. I'm waiting for Bill Miller's prices to go up any time now, they are very reasonable at present.
To atone for eating there, I'm having soup for supper every day this week, Ha!

Oh, goodness! Barbecue is my weakness, too. I still remember a little mom and pop place in the outback of Arkansas where the sauce was good enough to drink.
