That's right. You can exercise your abdominal muscles all you want, but without losing the fat that lies under all your skin, they aren't going to show. At this point, I just want any of them to show.

I've started weight training recently because I am trying to build some strength to perhaps encourage some bone strength. At my age, I may not build any bulk or bone changes, but I'll try it for a while.

I know what you mean about reading the right books. I've tried reading some literature, but realize much of the symbolism and such is lost on me.

Eating in moderation is a good thing.

Twelve weeks sounds like a good plan. Slow, steady weight loss is better because you can adapt to the changes better.
