Meow

IF EVER I designed my own house, I would put the kitchen exactly in the center.  It is the most important room in the house, the heart of the place.  Even the cats know this.  They appear as if on cue.

"Meow," which means "Food, please."
In the mornings, my wife & I vie for space.  I'm making my breakfast; she's fixing her lunch.  Cats wander in and out, depending upon whether or not they liked what we gave them.
"Meow," which means "I want something other than salmon."
All during the day, you're in & out of the kitchen.  Looking for a snack; getting a drink; starting something for dinner later; looking for a snack.  Did I repeat myself?
More than any of the other cats, Fancy Pants will follow me into the kitchen whenever I go in there.
"Meow," which means "Cats like snacks too."
See, cat people have to be bilingual.  We communicate with our feline children.  Bart the cat and I converse all the time, especially when we're outside together.
"Meow," which means "When are we going inside to the kitchen?"

There should be a Berlitz or Rosetta Stone course in "Cat." Steve, you and I could write the lesson plans.

You have piqued my imagination with this. I'm thinking of a children's book titled "CURLEY The Talking Cat." I'll write it; you illustrate it. We'll make a few bucks.

You know, you may be onto something!! I suspect it would market well.

You sure you mean cats? Sounds like grandkids to me.

Male people have agonized over being kissless by me.

If they ever perfect a time machine while we're still around, you and I are going back together.

I would love to have a big giant kitchen with room for a sofa and a couple of easy chairs next to a wood stove.

Eloise reproaches us in silence when she has issues with her food, but is very vocal about why she should be allowed to go outside for exploration. We have been finding owl pellets around, so forget the wild cats and other hazards, she could be carried off by an owl.

It's sad that she doesn't get to explore outside, but I understand. If some bird of prey went after Fancy Pants, the bird would be dinner.

So how many cats do you have? Not ten please.

Three that come & go that sleep in the house; a front porch cat; a back porch cat; then there are dozens of ferals that my wife feeds every day, no matter the weather. This occurs at (1) a feeding station about 600 yds down our driveway, and (2) some woods about 2 miles from us.

[ == Steve you are going to think I deliberate left off kiss and heart -- no -- all of the emoticons work except those two!!

Being kissless is okay, but being heartless won't go!

I am bilingual in both dog and cat. Rex thinks that I should be so pleased when he eats his dinner that he comes in and smacks his lips at me after
he has eaten. Just to hear what a good boy he is to eat his dinner.

My mother used to tell us, "Clean your plates! Somewhere in the world there are starving Armenians!"
