We got another 4-5 inches of snow overnight. Much drifting. Bummer. It should soon melt, however.
In the meantime, while waiting, I'm trying to keep occupied inside. Besides golf and gardening (and maybe exercising, reading, and music), I have no "real" hobbies, at least, for the indoors.
I don't make things like furniture or sweaters. No wood or wool products.
So winters are somewhat difficult for me to find things to do. I become very routine oriented. That's okay, up to a point. I've reached that point!
After breakfast, I spend up to 2 hours on the computer (mostly here at MyBloggers). Then I go to the basement to exercise (box and lift weights), and crack black walnuts between reps. Boring and repetitive.
After lunch, I work a Sudoku, maybe read the paper, and take a short nap.
Then I go outdoors to gather wood. I keep the wood-burning furnace going all night and day, so this is a normal chore. I did prune some fruit trees last week, but the cold and snow usually prevents me from doing much work outside.
For the rest of the afternoon, I find odd things to do. Yesterday, for example, I sorted through walnuts (meat) to remove shells. I hate when I bite down on a shell. I also made some granola, having run out. I rearranged wall hangings, patching holes as I went. I played the piano for 30'. And I walked in the basement for 30' (about 2 miles).
I also do my 1000 crunches in the late afternoon, maybe ride the "bike".
Pretty boring for a person that hates being cooped up indoors. After my shower, wine, and supper, I virtually sit for 4 hours, reading and watching TV--well, it's on, but I don't really pay much attention. It's "company". Bed by 11.
So when will my daily routines change? That depends on the weather. I am going into town today to see my daughter and grandson, sister, and father. That is, if the roads clear. But tomorrow, it's back to the usual. It gets might old.
