Moon over Indiana

Wasn't that a fabulous full moon show last night and early this morning? With farmers out in force harvesting, there's a lot of dust in the air, which intensifies the moon and sun rises and sets. (Not well stated.)

No big news this post. I revised my letter to the editor drastically and sent it in. Waiting now.

Started (restart) adding more bricks to my driveway. The chimney of the old one room school house down the road fell down, so I gathered firebricks, mortar and all.

Had to sign a bunch of papers to renew my CRP prairie grass contract for the next 10 years. They've raised their payouts from $110/ac to $210/ac. That'll be $685 per year, just to keep 3.3 acres out of crop production.

And, I started college funds for Emily's two kids--$1000 ea. The state has a good tax break plan--20% deduction on each thousand.

Going "cemetery searching" today with my sister on our way to see Emily and my grandchildren (Nate's at the farmers market). Should be nice weather. By the way, my father continues to survive and thrive (at nearly ninety-five). I'm a poet and didn't know it.

Have a good weekend.

Yeh, the moon was fantastic this morning. When I went out for my jog, it was like running into car headlights, it was so bright.

Good to hear you're still jogging. I'm slowing down, doing more long distance walking. Takes longer, but I enjoy it more. I can gawk around better. My grape juice isn't fermenting yet after 5 days. Hmmm.

Yes, the moon has been spectacular this week. Is this the harvest moon? Is the acreage that you get paid to not grow crops on the area that has the prairie plants on it now? A double benefit! Is your farmers market almost over for the year? Our last one is next week.

To your question, yes. They told me I have to remove some "invasive species", including tree saplings. I try, but 3.3 acres is a lot to keep weed free!
Market day yest. was pathetic. They brought back loads of unsold produce. The season is closing down in a couple of weeks.

Geez.. I'd like to get paid for growing nothing... I have an acre to spare for that!

I'm surprised this government "handout" hasn't been eliminated. But it's a pretty neat thing-- less erosion, wildlife habitat, etc.

Forgot to go out see the moon last night despite how beautiful Fredo mentioned it was.

Only when there's snow on the ground is the moon brighter--or, at least, the night. I tried to have a bonfire Sat. night to watch the moon rise, but my sticks were too wet to get going. Besides, a cloud bank was in the eastern sky.

I think it looks awkward because sun rises should be sunrises.

A little bit of both--or a "lotta bit"!

My moon is the same as your moon! Didn't have much luck on the cemetery search, but we had fun driving around the countryside. Leaves are turning colors.
