Mix and Match

Are you a mix and matcher? I certainly am.

My first mix of the day is my cereal. I always--and I mean always--mix two, maybe three, different cereals together. One "plain", the other "sugared". With berries. I even mix the milk sometimes (almond with skim).

I eat a lot of soups and stir-frys (spell check be damned). Talk about mixing and matching!! My turkey soup last night had everything but the proverbial kitchen sink in it.

I mix and match my garden veggies--peas with potatoes, etc.
I toss in soft with hard wood into the stove.
I'm even now wearing one white sock with one gray one!
You should see my brick driveway--mixed and matched.

However, I'm not a slob. My clothes closet is neatly organized, as is my food pantry and fridge/freezer. Perhaps I'm simply particular. Living alone has its advantages.

Rest assured, I wouldn't try that in public. I'll find their mates eventually. Maybe today--I'm washing clothes.

Maybe You are so organized that you have to mix up the food in your life?

That's a good way to look at the way I run my life!

They say living alone shortens ones life. Not for me--I have to live with myself. Never a dull moment!

And you still go out in public?!

I bet you have another pair of socks just like the white and gray pair you are wearing.

Probably. I should look behind the clothes dryer! He's gobbled up many a sock in his lifetime!

The whole is more than the sum of its parts, eh? All this sounds good and quite sane...until you got to the one white sock, one gray sock.

Regarding the sock mismatch, I found two "singles" in the drawer. Since I wasn't going out in public..... They got along just fine together. By the way, I AM walking in the winter, but mostly in circles in the basement. 4 "laps" takes a minute, so at a 16' mile pace, I can easily figure my distance by time. A long time ago, several toes got the chilblains which is very uncomfortable when my feet get cold. Therefore, nowadays I avoid spending much time outdoors when it gets below freezing. I have an explanation for everything!
