Jondude's Sauce

Jon graciously gave me two large jars of sauce when I stopped for a visit last Sunday. I finally read the labels he had tied to them and want to share them with you. He's too modest.

Jon Adams' "Nom-Nom Sauce", a "Spicy Arrabiata Pasta Sauce".
Ingredients: Fresh Italian plum tomatos (sic), yellow sweet onions, Chianti wine, virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, carrot juice, Worcester sauce, capers, Arrabiata peppers, chilis, basil, celery sault. Mildly zingy.

Jondude's "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE CHILI SAUCE"
Chili Colorado ("Red" in Spanish)
Fresh Ohio Roma tomatoes and onions, various chili peppers, other chilis*, chili powder, garlic, chipotles, fresh cilantro and basil, paprika, Worchster sauce, olive oil, brown sugar. Other herbs and spices.
Serve with any cooked meats. Pleasantly spicy! Not nuclear. No wine or other alcohol used.
(*Prop. assumes no responsibility for injuries or damages incurred while eating his chili sauce. Add water to cool. 12 quarts made this batch.)
Jon Adams; Proprietor
Not for sale or resale.

I can't wait to open them up!! Thank you Jon!! Someday, I'll return the jars.

In other news: It's been a beautiful week, weather-wise. Indian summer and all it encompasses. I've golfed every day, mostly by myself. I just enjoy the walk. Falling leaves obscure my ball.
Yard and garden wise, I've dug all my sweet potatoes. Voles (I assume) ate many of them. Voracious little devils. I've been raking up the walnuts that have dropped from the tree. There must be over a thousand. I can't crack them all. And, of course, there's the never ending wood to be cut, split and stacked. I've already lost the 5 lbs I gained while on "vacation".
I froze apple slices yest. and will make an apple crisp today. I might add rhubarb to tang it up. And the pears are falling, so I'll need to "do them up" into sauce and dehydrated slices.
Now what to do with umpteen cherry tomatoes?

Did you see where Geo. H.W. Bush's granddaugter, Lauren, married into the Ralph Lauren family? She is now Lauren Lauren!!
Have a great weekend.

you're living the good life ... sometimes I don't mind cooking, sometimes I get creative ... mostly I'd rather be doing something else.

You know, I AM living the good life. And I appreciate every moment of it. I'm sounding more like Martin every day!

I have cherry tomatoes dehydrating as I write. I also froze some Roma's. Tomatoes are so good for you. And good tasting!

Jon is truly a gourmet cook. Me! I open a jar or a can. Cooking holds no appeal for me.

Too much work and prep for such little reward (for me). But I appreciate Jon's effort and sacrifice.

It's so nice to be able to picture you in your environment--area, house, computer room, etc. I had a wood fire yest. since the cold front came through.

I love to play golf alone. But I always fear another hole-in-one, with no witness. If you get one, I'll sign your card.
