Heal Baby, Heal

It's been a week since that bulldog bit me--seems more like a month. I'm slowly healing, emphasize the word slowly. I'm still unable to do my usual work and things. No jogging and little walking.

I checked the paper's TV section to see what sports are on today to keep me occupied. Holy cow! I counted 20 college football games, golf, racing, women's basketball, three baseball games, and other assorted events. It's the 20 football games that mystify me. Can that many games draw an individual audience large enough to make money? Do that many people sit around the TV on a gorgeous Sat afternoon to watch meaningless football (or any other) games?

I'm almost depressed that I'm stuck here. I could go driving around, but gas prices prohibit that activity. I should be thankful I'm not in a wheelchair or bedridden. There, I feel better. Have a good weekend, all my mybloggers friends.

Although you're healing slowly, I'm glad to hear that you are healing. I can't imagine sitting and staring at the TV all day long when there is perfectly beautiful day to go play in... I feel your pain. I hope you're up and around easily and without pain real soon.

What a wretched dog!! What happened to it? Well, I'll go back and read, (later - this is what I get for being off so long!). You have a huge number of games to choose from... I think that it's much better to watch from home. Think of all of the gas that's being saved by having ALL those people (who fill the stadiums) NOT driving there. Well, a lot still do.

You are definitely not the sedentary type, huh? Hope you recover soon before the lack of activity affects your morale.

Hope your weekend gets better. I recall being practically bed-ridden with a second degree sprain in my ankle. Needless to say, I was averaging about three blogs a day then. May you recover quickly and be back to jogging in no time.

I rarely watch any sport -- maybe sometimes tennis. Used to watch baseball and basketball. But that was NY. And I do watch some of the Olympics but not team sports. This year I saw they have a new (to me) event -- beach volleyball. Oh ho hum. And those bathing suits are one step away from porn.
Who care who wins that one.

Hope it wasn't a pit bull and that you heal quickly. We always watch parts of the O. U. game but it makes us so tense that we don't watch it for long at a time. All things Sooner appeal to us. We both attended there sev eral semesters. Ted was in Pharmacy school and I had a fellowship in Speech Pathology but it was so boring in practice that I quit and went to work teaching.

Sending you healing thoughts as I enjoy Super Saturday U.S. Open tennis! One of my favorite sports weekends of the year!! Federer is going for his fifth Open title in a row tomorrow. Awesome!!

"Meaningless football????" I take big issue with that phrase!!!!! I love sports and most of the time it is better to watch them on tv than to attend the actual event. I went to the Rose Bowl one year and sat in the next to the last row at the top of the stadium. I couldn't even see the football. But then... there was the Stanford/Oregon game at Stanford on a crispy warm fall afternoon that was one of my favorite experiences in life. My only problem was that I was trying to visit with our friends and watch the game and then I discovered there wasn't any instant replay. lol Okay... where is that tv guide? Let's see... will it be football, tennis, golf, or whatever today?

You have a great weekend, too.
(((Hugs))) Annie

I think one good thing about television football is they don't (usually) bump the action for commercials, so you get decent stretches of play time and lots of beer ads, which are usually more entertaining than ones for payday loans and ambulance chasing lawyers (for example). I hope you really are feeling better and healing up fast.

I wonder the same thing...who could sit in front of the TV on a beautiful Saturday afternoon if they weren't compelled to by some physical limitation? I'll watch some of the Gator vs. Hurricane game this evening and that's it. Man, that incident with the dog bite still ticks me off; I hope you can get some satisfaction out of it eventually.
