Early Morning

While waiting for my coffee to percolate (I have the old fashioned percolator which takes 10 minutes), I went out to get the Sunday paper (worthless) and take some pictures of what I've talked about in recent weeks. I'll attempt to add them here, but it's always failed in the past.

Yep. Just as I figured: "Error: The image you uploaded is too large." I haven't learned how to shrink the kilobytes.

I'll add them to my "photos" (under avatar) and you can go there (hopefully) to see them (if you wish).

Photo 1: wood to be split and stored in woodshed.

Photo 2: "wildflower" patch out my back door. I used to have a above-ground pool, then a pond there.

Photos 3 and 4: my "in progress" brick driveway. You might be able to see how much I've added this past month. I have a very long way to go to the road! No intentions of ever making it.

Photo 5: Not a good picture, but it's my garden (one of patches). The buckets and cages are for covering certain plants from rabbits overnight.

I try to keep under control about an acre of land--sort of an island surrounded by corn and bean fields. I'll probably be working on all three projects today (wood, bricks, garden). I think I have around 75 trees, many of which bear fruits and nuts.
Nice day to be outdoors. A 5 mile walk is planned, too. I tried to jog yesterday, but my hip is still bothering me. I really should rest it, but my brain won't let me.

Have a good day (and week). It's great to be alive.

I never miss the advice columns or the comics or the puzzles and sometimes I look at the letters column if I want to reinforce my distaste for local opinion. And when they print my letters, I have real qualms about being in such company.

I work 3 puzzles out of the paper. I'll miss them.

I emailed them back to you, all re-sized for use on the web. The originals you sent me are 180 dpi (dots per inch) camera-size. My camera does the originals @230 dpi, and 180 is usually the newer camera/phone setting. You have to use 72 dpi on the web (96 dpi works but I don't recommend it.)

WOW! You did a lot of work. I really appreciate it. Thanks again.

Photoshop or Photostyler will be what you need, unless you can do it with a scanner's software. I wouldn't mess with it in the camera.

You will have to meet us there in OK?

That means I'll have to bring my computer along so you can help me with photos.

I also only see the wood pile of the new ones. The others are good though. How about a four part series of your house in each season.

Good idea. I probably couldn't get those pics to download either!

Re: driveway project. It is good to have long term goals. You can't "leave" until they are done.

I usually use my Kodak software to resize pictures as I download them from my camera, but there are many free utilities that can do the job. Here's a link from cnet for one of them. You'll have to figure out how to put it back together since links aren't supported in comments.

download (dot) cnet (dot) com/3055-2192_4-10319476.html?tag=pdl-redir

Hopefully that link is disguised enough to show.

If and when I have time, I'll try. I'm not too good at that sort of thing. But thanks.

For anybody else who may be snatching the download: Replace (dot) with a period and remove the spaces.

I never look at them. Don't need the "persuasion" or temptation. Thanks for dropping by.
