First Day of Spring

Well, Happy Spring--officially!

Around these parts, it (Spring) has already hit us like a bombshell. Not that winter was bad (I don't think it ever got below zero.). But this is ridiculous.

It's been in the 80s for a week, with more to come. Records are broken by 5 degrees or more. I'm wearing shorts, tevas, T-shirts. I even have a tan.

I've golfed many times, tilled and planted some garden, and hiked the country-side.

Fruit trees are in full bloom--or even past. I'm thinking mushrooms should be popping soon--that's a month early!!
This is the most amazing weather I can remember, at least on the good side. And I'm loving it! Let's hope it stays with us through the weekend. I have big plans.

I hated being stuck in the dentist's chair for an hour yest. My daughter cleaned my teeth. No cavities! I have been having wisdom teeth problems--sensitivity with certain foods. A raspberry seed will send me through the ceiling.

And, lastly, the house my SIL and daughter had moved is finally sitting on its foundation. That all happened yesterday. Whew! Now comes the renovation process. But, for now, that will have to wait. They're in full planting mode for the summer veggies. You should see their greenhouses! It's a prodigious amount of work, taking an enormous amount of time. I'm blown away (I saw it Sunday).

Have a productive week.

Just last year, we were still buried in snow. But this March broke temperature records from the 1940s — by 12 degrees! The trees here too exploded into blossom a month early. Hearing of your strawberry plants make me so eager for the first outdoor Farmers' Markets, still a month away.

It has been nice here too. I am finally getting out to pressure wash my house and driveway.

I wonder if a pressure hose would work on taking the mortar off those bricks I picked up? Are you for rent?

I adore my pups and wouldn't trade them for the world.

Same weather here. It is supposed to get down to the 60s in the next few days. That is still way above normal. I love it. I dug up most of my garden-several weeks early. You are inspiring me to do a little planting.

Gee, I'm glad I'm good for something! I weeded my strawberry bed yest. Never fun, but necessary. 6 of 8 blueberry plants survived the winter. Perhaps there's hope for one of the two "dead" ones (green stem).
