Chilly Weekend

It's a cold start to a Sunday. I covered up my tomatoes last nigh in anticipation of a frost. Freeze warnings are out for tonight. My morning walk will be a chilly one.

Then my sisters and I are driving down to my grandson's birthday party, 3 years old. He'll get lots of attention which he needs now that he has a month old sister.

I went down there (45' drive) Friday to pick green beans in a cold rain. I was miserable. What one will do in the name of love! I can't imagine they had a good market day, saleswise.

I received confirmation for a house rental in Mexico Beach FL for two weeks in February. Anticipation will help make the winter here in Indiana a little more pleasant. As far as I know, I'll be going alone. If anyone wants to join me, feel free. It's a wonderful (and fairly inexpensive) place.

That's about it. Have a good week.

Well that sounds wonderful for a vacation Randy!!!

Since I'm retired, I don't call it a vacation. Perhaps a "getaway"! After a long winter, I'll be ready. It can't come soon enough!

February is the last month of our summer, luckily our autumn is not too bad--in past years i have headed north for a winter breakbut no more long trips now --the driving has got to me, getting out of rv after a long stint at the wheel and i am buggered.

My drive south will take 15 hours. I usually take a day and a half. Like you, I'm not young anymore!

My kids confirmed sales were lousy. They're ready for the season to end, although it means no income. Time, again, for me to come to the rescue.

I'd feel better about the winter if I had an activity to look forward to, but a two week vacation just wouldn't do it! Have a great anticipation!

It's funny how the whole idea and confirmation perked me up, especially with this nasty weather we've been having. I'm burning wood as I write. Now, I feel like I can make it through the winter!

Our heat wave has eased up but not a whole lot. Your vacation plans sound lovely. Is Mexico Bach in the panhandle?

About 20 miles east of Panama City on Highway 98. Very uncrowded.

Mexico Beach is a great place. I'd live there fulltime if circumstances made it possible. A keen trip to look forward to Randy.

You've been there, eh? Yes, that stretch of white sand beach between Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe is fantastic. One can stand on it and see nary a person in either direction. Best kept secret in the U.S. of A. Nice place to visit, but I think I'll retire right here at home.
