I refuse to honor the groundhog. Instead, I'm giving attention to the more ancient Feb 2nd Candlemas Day.
I'll repeat what I've posted on previous CDs (from my grandmother):
"Candlemas Day, Candlemas Day,
Half the wood, half the hay."
Meaning, of course, that winter is half over, and that you'd better have an equal amount left compared to what has been used thus far.
You'll have to google the history. Not my job.
And, for the record, I'm NOT watching Groundhog Day, the movie, again. It's the same thing over and over! (a funny)

I had charge of my grandson, Jonny, yesterday (28 mo). He's talking up a storm. Great kid. When his mother came to pick him up (and stayed for supper), she informed me she's 3 months pregnant! Yippee! If you remember, she miscarried her last one. So, she's a little nervous.
Good timing, though. Her 3 day work week is being cut to 2 (they have about 4 dental hygienists all working part time), so she's quitting in 3 months to work on the farm, have the baby, then maybe find another job in 2013. We'll see.
Super Bowl week weather has been great. So, right after I posted about "the need to get out", I've been getting out! Jogging, walking, even yard work (sticks, leaves, wood).
It's been up near 60 degrees and sunny. The Candlemas mantra isn't true this year, for sure. One problem, the ground isn't frozen, so Nate and Emily's house can't be moved (across fields) as planned. I'm sorta hoping it'll turn frigid this month--one week only.
One more thing: I have a blind date for lunch tomorrow (Fri)!
Details to follow.
