Boring Post

I don't have much to say, but it's been four days since I last posted.
Same old stuff around here.
Golf every week day. "Hired" my neighbor boy caddy yesterday for the second time. Played with a couple of ministers! Yes, me the atheist with two preachers. The one I usually play with asked me for church advice. Crazy.
I completed my brick driveway. At least, I ran out of bricks.
Been watering my garden veggie rows. It helps, but nothing beats a good rain. This drought is approaching an all time "worse ever", at least in my memory. Field corn and soybeans are shriveling up and shutting down in growth. No rain in sight.
I'm headed for the library, CVS, recyclable drop-off, farm, and a Amish garden market, just to browse around. Golf this PM when it's good and hot! Less crowded, and I don't mind the heat.
My father was well behaved at our little family get together over Dads Day. Nothing controversial or upsetting. After reading Fredo's post on his father, I guess I'm rather lucky, despite my irritations with mine.
I was happy to get a card, a phone call, and an email from my 3 "out-of-towners" kids. It's nice not to be taken for granted.
Enough for now. You all take care.

Hopefully, Debby brought an end to this year's drought.

I agree about the spinach, mine bolted within a week of it being ready to eat.

I visited my dad and brought him home grown spinach.

Hey stranger. Of all the vegetables I grow, spinach is the most contrary. I blink, and it bolts!

A huge heat dome is upon us in Northwest Ohio. Temps in the 90s with heat indexes over 100. Hoping the forecasts for rain tomorrow afternoon and evening come true. You're lucky you can take the heat. My best friends these days are my two big box fans.

Bought me a dahlia and snap pea seeds at the market. The owner gave me two pepper plants and 4 pink petunias and some rotten bananas they were going to toss. Hated to see all their tomato plants being "dumped", but I have more than enough. Come on rain!!!

Daughter is bringing my grandson over for me to watch this PM. Now THEIR lives are far from boring! Nate accidentally slashed two trailer tires, their water pump (house) went out, and they are dealing with the drought in a big way. Mercy.

YAY that your kids all stepped up. I think that's important as well. Proof that you are doing a good job? This post wasn't boring FYI. Always good to hear from you.
