Basketball--yawn

Yes, I stayed up an hour past my bedtime to watch my IU Hoosiers play in the NCAA basketball first round in Portland OR. (They won)

But other than that, I'm not going to pay much attention to the tournament this year. I just can't get excited, despite my team being in it.

Maybe it's an age thing--the older I get, the less enthused I become.

Perhaps it's because I can't watch all the games due to limited channels on my DISH package (for which I am grateful). If they're not available, I'm not tempted (like chocolate).

I didn't even fill out a bracket or choose an overall winner. So the games I can watch (on CBS and TBS) don't get me stressed out as to the outcome. I simply don't care--or so I tell myself. I mean, I still root for the underdogs and all.
Otherwise, life goes on.

Like so many things, we can become consumed by certain "products" (today's new IPad?), or presidential primaries (who can take a whole day of MSNBC politics?), or basketball.

I say, ignore the "soup de jour". Instead, become active, work, read, volunteer. There's more to life than taking in all the hype. Have a great weekend.

One thing I am not following is the primaries. I get disgusted hearing them speak- and reading what they said. By the way, I caught up on all of your posts. Maybe this time I can stay caught up?

Thanks, I think. I'm used to your going AWOL on me/us. Don't like it, because I worry, however.

Responding to your response, caring is what life is all about. Ya heard it here.

Our primary is Tuesday. Usually Illinois doesn't count because we are so late and the winner has already been determined. Not this year. We have commercials out the wazoo this weekend. Candidates are campaigning here in the NW suburbs, not in Chicago. Many Republicans in the NW suburbs, although they are diminishing.

You think you guys are late--how 'bout Indiana? May! Of course, I don't care (see reply to Teal). Prediction?

If the price comes down, I may have to consider purchasing an IPad. Sounds interesting. I need someone to show me all the features, first.

You are quite the leader in how you live your life sir. I like the advice!

Thank you Kristy. I like to think I practice what I preach. And sister, I'm really enjoying being outdoors with all this great weather!

I can easily take a whole day of MSNBC politics. As for basketball, some game or other, I didn't make any notes, dominated CBS programming last night, killing my viewing pleasure as I like "The Big Bang Theory," "A Person of Interest" and "The Mentalist". They were all shoved aside for this.

Yeah, I missed BBT, but I keep watching TBS reruns. You ARE a political junkie to watch rehash after rehash of anti-republican spin (bashing). I keep thinking "why do I care?" I'm strictly an Obama man. I don't need to get my prickles up any more than they already are!

Maybe I'll tune in when it reaches the last eight teams, or four, or unless there is a underdog team a la Butler' run that gets me going.

I'll be missing a chunk of games next weekend (sweet 16). See future post.
