Yes, I stayed up an hour past my bedtime to watch my IU Hoosiers play in the NCAA basketball first round in Portland OR. (They won)
But other than that, I'm not going to pay much attention to the tournament this year. I just can't get excited, despite my team being in it.
Maybe it's an age thing--the older I get, the less enthused I become.
Perhaps it's because I can't watch all the games due to limited channels on my DISH package (for which I am grateful). If they're not available, I'm not tempted (like chocolate).
I didn't even fill out a bracket or choose an overall winner. So the games I can watch (on CBS and TBS) don't get me stressed out as to the outcome. I simply don't care--or so I tell myself. I mean, I still root for the underdogs and all.
Otherwise, life goes on.
Like so many things, we can become consumed by certain "products" (today's new IPad?), or presidential primaries (who can take a whole day of MSNBC politics?), or basketball.
I say, ignore the "soup de jour". Instead, become active, work, read, volunteer. There's more to life than taking in all the hype. Have a great weekend.
