Our World

The polar cap is melting
Causing the ocean to rise
Smoke coming from factories
Enough to bring tears to your eyes.
Rainforest's disappearing
Not many left to be found
Where they once stood
Now lies barren ground.
Where is the earth going
What happens when it gets there
Now is the time for questions
Now is the time to care.
Looking at our children
What will we leave behind
When they grow up
What kind of earth will they find.
Animals becoming extinct
Soon there will be no more
Answer me honestly
Isn't that worth fighting for.
Now is the time to undo
The mistakes we've made
For mankind's foolishness
There are dues to be paid.
For this is our world, our planet
What more is there to say
If we don't act our blue sky
Will be replaced by a darker shade
of gray.

Very thoughtful poem... Wish it weren't so. I hope it makes everyone stop and think.
