Whispers in the night
Soft and low
Apologizing
Saying you have to go.
Someone else
Is waiting at home
So now lay here
In the dark, alone.
I ask myself
Over and over again
Why be in a place
I never should've been.
But I see that smile
The softness of your hair
Overtaken by desire
That I no longer care.
I should listen
To that voice in my heart
Telling me to run
That we'd better apart.
But as I turn
I run back to you
Not sure why
But I know I do.
Then I say next time
Next time will be our last
But that comes
And then it's in the past.
Maybe tomorrow
It's all I got
Tomorrow
Then again..maybe not.
