In the Home Stretch

One week and counting, a new chapter in American history will be written. The big question now is where do we go
from here?? There has been a lot of mud slinging during
this campaign, can that be put behind us?? I hope that
once the dust settles that the candidates can see what
needs to be done and go about the task of getting to work.
We are a country in need of repair, financially and spiritually. We need to look at where we are, as compared to where we need to be..or where we think we should be. The road we need to travel will be a long one, and the journey will not be easy..nothing worth having comes easy. There are needs that we all have, jobs, food, money. There are fears that need to be calmed. What we need is for our leaders to stand up and tell us the truth, not just empty promises or sell us some vision of what life should be. To tell us that yes this country is in trouble, but if we work together we can fix it. The journey begins at the voting booth, and we as citizens need to start there if we are to see change.

I read earlier someone said that out of this whole country, these are the two we get to choose from? I couldn't agree more, but I gotta go with Obama. It's scary and I am scared to see what is going to happen...

I, like you, sincerely hope that this will be a new beginning in a new direction; and I think Obama can bring his vision to us if Congress will just let him.

Well said Tim. I too wonder what will be once the election is over and real life is waiting in the wings.

And WE need to make sacrifices, not just the other guy.
Wouldn't it be good to hear the real TRUTH from our politicians about where we stand and what needs to be done?!?!?
