On the Road to Washington

Could there be anything, with the exception of gas prices that are falling faster then the McCain/Palin numbers?? Here in upstate New York in August gas prices averaged about about $4.35-$4.60 a gallon, now you can find gas for roughly $3.02-$3.05 a gallon. In September McCain/Palin Obama/Biden were nearly neck and neck in the polls, now Obama/Biden are 11-15% ahead of McCain/Palin. A lot of people may question this, and the analysts are analyzing their little hearts out covering the why and hows. If my opinion was asked I'd have to say that the American people are now willing to gamble with their future, they are tired of the direction this country(and economy)are heading. I believe they see McCain/Palin as a continuation of our current failed administration. I also believe that some, like my 85yr old father are not totally comfortable with voting for Obama/Biden but are scared of losing what little that they have that they are willing to make that "leap of faith". I believe that the strategist's working for Obama/Biden are playing this for all it's worth, and you can't blame them. Fear is a powerful weapon whether it has any basis of truth or not, especially if your elderly and living on a fixed income. If you fall into that group the prospect of losing what you worked hard for all your life, no matter how meager looms very large. Now I can't say with any degree of certainty what will happen after the November 4th, I don't think anybody does..not even that brainiac James Carville. But I do believe that when they get to Washington their will be mess left to clean up that'll be worse then anything Katrina or Ike could have stirred up, and as history has proven we Americans are not a patient people.

It's just not looking good. Wall Street has more rollercoasters than all the the theme parks combined, and Americans are tired of getting sick on the rides. It has taken time to end up in this mess, and it will take time to get out of it. But at what price?

Whoever wins will be spending their first term undoing Bush's bull--let's not forget all that--unfortunately the last few months have made most people forget that.
