I live a life
Of light and shadow
On a journey
Not knowing where to go.
Sunset, sunrise
Watching the earth turn
Hoping for sign
A lesson to learn.
Watching the parade
As it stumbles past
Coming to the end
For nothing ever will last.
Under the circus tent
Where we come to play
Some end up leaving
For they have found their way.
As night falls
We are lying in bed
Alone with thoughts, fears
Spinning in our head.
Some days
We wonder, we pray
Will we have the strength
To make it through the day.
The beauty of the sunrise
As it crosses the eastern sky
Wondering if this is the day
It'll be time to say goodbye.
