First off I know I haven't been writing on a regular basis, I am not sure why that is..just haven't had it in me to write. But I figure today was a good day to give it a spin, even if I had to struggle a little to get thoughts out. It's been crazy here, with my work and taking care of kids has consumed my time to a degree that somethings get put on the back burner..one of those has been writing. Well it's about 7am and all is quiet here in the house, except for my son watching TV in the living room. My wife just left for work about a half hour ago, and our cat (belle) is rubbing around my feet looking to be fed would be my first guess. My son(9) goes to summer school every day, not because of any scholastic failings but it helps gets him a leg up for the coming school year. My son is autistic, fortunately he is "high functioning" which means if you interacted with him you'd be pressed to find anything out of the norm with him. I admire my son and what he has been going through, he is a boy who has taken what he was given and made the best of it. He is smart, funny, and he has a true love for people. He is curious and if you talk with him he will fire off questions at you in a rapid fire pace. I pick him up from summer school in the afternoon, and on the way home we play a game. The game is that he waves at people in cars and sees how many will wave back, most people will wave and most will smile..especially women. I think in some cases it makes people feel good to do this, because in this day in age I think any ray of sunshine that you can find you need to grab it and hold on tight to it. So in honor of my boy I will lean out my computer window and give you a wave & a smile and hope something great happens to you today
