Sitting on the front porch swing
Not doing no one no harm
Swaying with the breeze
And drinking Boone's Farm.
Looking at the old yearbook
Memories that will never die
Reminiscing about those days
Laughing till we started to cry.
We keep moving forward
Another time, another place
And keep reminding ourselves
That life is not a race.
Enjoying the simply simple
Like an ice cream
Or when you feel the need
Just to let out a scream.
Faster this world turns
Filled with ever changing technology
But who says
This is the way it has to be.
I want to feel the sun
Slowly warm my face
Sit and look into the sky
And wonder what it's like in space.
Listen to a child laugh
In the park at play
To watch the sunset
And see the sunrise the next day.
Taste the sweet drops of rain
From a shower in spring
With no particular schedule
Taking what the day will bring.
So I will sit here
Quiet enough to hear the beat of
my heart
A begining to another day
That would be a good start.
