I am reminded
Of a particular day
Just a random memory
That I want to share today.
About a sunny meadow
In the middle of nowhere
An afternoon summer breeze
Without a worry or care.
The sun shined brightly
Felt warm upon my face
For a moment in time
It was the right time, right place.
The breeze blew light
Softly bending the grass
Too and fro
Watching time slowly pass.
He thought very little
For it seemed such a waste
As took a drink from the brook
He savored the sweet taste.
Wishing he was an artist
A picture this would make
But he was but a writer
In need of a break.
Soon it was time
To head down the track
But he made a promise
That someday he'd be back.
