I remember Christmas past
Every now and then
Memories standing the test of time
Taking me to way back when.
Closing my eyes
I am taken there
Visiting Santa's house
In a snow-covered town square.
All the colored lights
That shimmer and glow
It was our dreams come true
Surrounded by the new-fallen snow.
Toys lined upon the shelves
All bright and new
And you thought Santa himself
Would bring them all to you.
The small white church
Silent, candle lit
The preacher retelling the story
That was long ago written.
People joining hands
Bowing their heads in prayer
Praying for those that are close
And those who couldn't be there.
But I will always hold
A memory that will forever last
When I remember
The Christmas of my past.
