He thought about his life
From point A to B
Where he was
Where he wanted to be.
He thought about the bad
Speed bumps along his journey
And he had to be honest
Not all his life was sad.
He remembered loves
Present and past
And his only regret
Was that life had come and
gone too fast.
There wasn't anything
He felt he needed to do
No problems to solve
No issues to work through.
Though he enjoyed a lovers
company
Sometimes he'd rather be alone
Enjoying a quiet moment
Without television or telephone.
Quietly watching
The night as is begins to fall
A single candle burns
The flames shadow
Dancing upon the wall.
Sitting on the front porch
Swaying back and forth on
the swing
Waiting, anticipating
New life with the coming of spring.
Though his life has had detours,
roadblocks
It's been turned, rearranged
It's been more good then bad
All in all there nothing he'd
wanted changed.
